Vall de Núria plays a key role in sustainability by positioning itself as a destination committed to the environment. In fact, the Valley proposes the idea of becoming a benchmark thanks to the development of the Ecovall Project.
Below we explain everything you need to know about the initiative!
The Ecovall Project is the tool that is promoted in order to strengthen adaptation to climate change and is responsible for the definition of future strategies. All of these are focused on improving, raising awareness and establishing lines of action for responsible management and in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
This is how Vall de Núria sets a definite goal: to strengthen its responsibility in the face of climate change by proposing a series of measures to preserve the exceptional environment that embodies the Vall.
We are talking about the promotion of clean and renewable energy sources, the progressive abandonment of diesel or the replacement of combustion engine vehicles with electric 4x4s. The intention is to value, preserve and promote natural capital by improving efficiency in the management of environmental impact.
One of the primary foundations of Ecovall focuses on eradicating the presence of plastic in all restoration areas of the Valley. Innovative and sustainable alternatives are sought in order to reduce the serious impact of plastic on the ecosystem. At the same time, the aim is to improve waste management by ensuring that all of these are treated responsibly to keep the spectacular surroundings intact.
In addition, the most convenient access to Vall de Núria is through the most ecological and sustainable means of transport: the rack train powered by solar energy. This is how a modernized system is put into operation that allows you to enjoy the beauty of the Valley while helping to take care of the space to preserve it in its purest state.
Therefore, the Ecovall Project responds to one of the axes of FGC Turisme's strategy, that of environmental sustainability, climate action and protection of natural capital that encourages people to always choose the sustainable path.
Now that you know all the measures we are carrying out... Will you join us on this journey towards a more environmentally responsible future?
