synopsis
El Puigmal is one of the most emblematic peaks in Catalonia. Astride Ripollès and Cerdanya, its 2,910 meters make it the highest mountain in the Girona Pyrenees. These lands have been a place for grazing, religious pilgrimage, thermal tourism and the cradle of Catalan hiking. But where does the name Puigmal come from? Do we know who was the first to climb it? How has your environment evolved in the last 150 years? In this project we approach the Puigmal and discover its mountain stories.
