The snowfalls in mid-December, along with the cold and sunny weather of most days of this holiday, have favored an increase of up to 39% in visitors compared to last season.

The six mountain resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) have received 160,000 visitors during this Christmas, New Year and Epiphany holiday period, 39% more than last season. These holidays have been marked by stable weather, with sunshine and low temperatures until the days before Epiphany, which has allowed the resorts to expand their skiable areas during these weeks and also offer alternative nature activities to skiing and snowboarding.

The president of Ferrocarrils, Carles Ruiz Novella, has been satisfied with the figures achieved. “It has been a good Christmas and we have been able to recover visitors and, in addition, consolidate the entire range of alternative activities to skiing; the complementary activities, both recreational and gastronomic, have been very well received, which allows us to begin to focus on the resorts with a 365-day-a-year vision. At Ferrocarrils, we are committed to the development of the territory and all our efforts are aimed at taking advantage of the snowy season but also generating activity all year round”, he explained. In this sense, Ruiz highlighted the dynamic role of FGC mountain resorts in the territories where they are located: “Our ski and mountain resorts are important assets in the economies of mountain regions”.

La Molina

The La Molina resort received a total of 51,564 visitors during the Christmas holidays, 32% more than last year during the same period. With 26 open slopes and 26 skiable kilometers, visitors were able to enjoy the snow in a fully wintery atmosphere for a good part of these two weeks. The resort has hosted several events, such as the 25th anniversary of Alp 2500, the arrival of Santa Claus, the 74th Children's Downhill, the Salomon Race CEAC and the long-awaited arrival of the Three Kings. In addition, the new après-ski area La Placeta has been inaugurated and the Christmas Camp has been well received by the little ones.

Vall de Núria

Vall de Núria has received a total of 20,383 visitors, of which 5,579 were skiers during the holidays. These figures imply a 13% increase in visitors this Christmas. With 7 open slopes and 4,631 km of skiable terrain, the resort has offered a wide variety of activities, such as the 3rd edition of Christmas in Vall de Núria, the Tió house, game itineraries, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Three Kings' Eve, snow machine outings and Star Discovery by the Montsec Astronomical Park. The Leisure Park has been one of the star activities, with a 30% increase in visitors compared to the previous year.

Vallter

Vallter has welcomed a total of 16,217 visitors during the Christmas holidays, of which 12,974 have been skiers, which is 142% more than last season. With 4 open slopes and 7 ski lifts in operation, the resort has offered a wide range of activities, such as the Fajol Club, the great New Year's Eve party and the arrival of the Royal Pageant. The good weather has allowed visitors to enjoy the snow and the new proposals of the season, such as afternoon rides on snowmobiles to watch the sunset and dinners at the new Braseria Les Marmotes.

Espot Esquí and Port Ainé

Espot Esquí and Port Ainé have received 14,085 and 26,730 skiers, respectively, and have also experienced an increase in visitors of 28% and 46%. With the majority of the ski area open and a schedule full of activities, the two resorts have had a notable influx. Among the most popular activities, the torchlight descent from Port Ainé, the arrival of the Three Wise Men and the Leisure Park stand out. The hotels have been at 100% occupancy almost every day of Christmas.

Boí Taüll

The Ribagorça resort has greatly improved its numbers compared to last Christmas, reaching 31,000 visitors, of which 21,500 were skiers. This figure represents a 38% increase in visitors compared to a year ago. The resort's technical services have worked hard to prepare the slopes throughout the holiday period, making up to 40% of its skiable area available to its visitors.

The Christmas holiday period has been very positive in Boí Taüll. The Vall de Boí resort has registered a large influx of visitors and skiers, once again establishing itself as a driving force for the region during these times. Its skiable terrain, the constant work of the resort teams to progressively open slopes and facilities, a diverse program of activities and events such as the traditional Gran Baixada de Torxes and the various Aprés-Ski days with DJs on the Cow Boí Terrace, and the good sunny weather, have been key to achieving the good figures this season.
