With snow depths ranging from 30 to 60 cm of powder snow, this holiday season La Molina will open up to 26 skiable kilometers spread over 27 slopes and the Alp2500 domain in operation.
From December 20 to January 5, it will offer activities for adults and children: from visits from Santa Claus and the Three Kings to the traditional torchlight procession, including children's workshops, live music and gastronomic offerings.
La Molina, a resort of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), is preparing for a Christmas party full of magic and fun in the snow. With a special program for all audiences, the leading ski resort in the state offers a wide range of activities to enjoy the white spirit in a unique environment.
The low temperatures (down to -10º), the snowfall recorded in previous days and the constant work of the ski technicians have allowed the production of excellent quality snow, ensuring a great experience for visitors. In the run-up to the holidays, the Girona resort will open 26 kilometers of skiable slopes and 27 slopes, accessible by nine ski lifts. With snow depths ranging between 30 and 60 cm of powder snow, the forecast is to expand the skiable area whenever conditions are favorable.
The first Christmas Camp in La Molina
This holiday season, La Molina becomes a magical setting with the Christmas Camp, a unique experience that will make young and old dream. Surrounded by an enchanted forest and elf huts, the resort offers the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments with a visit from Father Christmas and, later, from the Three Kings.
At the start of the trip to the Christmas Camp, the elf Ron will help decorate Christmas hats and write letters full of wishes. The magic continues with a visit to the elf library, full of fantastic stories, and a stop at the elf Ramiller's hut, where children can help him prepare a potion that makes the sleigh fly. The culminating moment arrives at Father Christmas's shelter, where children can deliver their letters to him personally.
The Christmas Camp can be visited on December 20, 21, 22 and 23, between 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The magic will continue with the Three Kings and their ambassadors, who will be present on January 2, 3 and 4 at the same time.
Tickets are sold for private groups of between 3 and 10 people, at a price of €35 per person, with free entry for children up to 2 years old accompanied by an adult. This exclusive and immersive Christmas experience guarantees magical moments for the whole family. Buy tickets here.
Dates to keep in mind
On Christmas morning, La Molina will receive a visit from Santa Claus in a very special way. Children will be able to see him skiing down the resort's slopes until he reaches the Long Track, where he will be waiting to congratulate them on the holidays, hand out candy and take photos with them all.
On Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., the popular La Molina Children's Downhill will take place, the race held since 1950 on the Long Track. It is one of the oldest competitions in Europe. This will be the 74th edition and the little ones, from 0 to 6 years old, will be the protagonists of the day.
As every year, La Molina awaits the arrival of Their Majesties the Three Kings on January 5. From 5:00 p.m., on the Long Track, the resort will offer different activities such as, for example, children's entertainment with juggling. A hot chocolate will be served for the children afterwards. At around 6:30 p.m., when night begins to fall, Their Majesties will descend the mountains accompanied by a group of skiers with torches, illuminating the slopes in a magical moment until they reach the foot of Pista Llarga, where the gift collection will be held.
During these special dates, all the catering points and services will be in operation, including the Ski Bus and the Ski Train, which facilitate access to the slopes by public transport.
25th anniversary of the Alp2500 domain
Next Monday, December 30, the 25th anniversary of the La Molina + Masella domain (Alp 2500) and the Cadí-Moixeró Cable Car will be commemorated with a program full of proposals for all audiences. During the day, visitors will enjoy entertainment at the foot of the slopes and, in the evening, a torchlight descent will be organized.
La Molina and Masella currently form one of the largest ski areas in the Pyrenees, with 145 kilometres of slopes. The lift that facilitates the connection of both stations is the Cadí-Moixeró Cable Car, which covers, in just 20 minutes, the almost three kilometres that separate the Cable Car car park, at an altitude of 2,537, from La Tosa d’Alp. This lift, inaugurated in 1999, was a great revolution and has become a symbol of progress for mountain enthusiasts.
