The six ski and mountain resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya plan to open their ski areas until Easter. With 28 days of the season ahead, winter sports enthusiasts will be able to enjoy unbeatable conditions thanks to the abundant snowfall recorded in recent weeks.
The six Ferrocarrils resorts, together, plan to open almost all of the ski areas this weekend. The good condition of the slopes, the constant work of the station staff and the forecast of more snowfall predict a good end to the season with the ski areas in optimal operation until Easter.
The staff will carry a device that can be activated in the event of an incident, which will allow the person to be located and monitored in real time and instantly. When the device is activated, it sends an alert to the telephone number that is associated, either the control center or the staff on duty. With this new tool, Ferrocarrils reaffirms its commitment to the safety of its workers by betting on new technologies.
Make-up workshops, costume contests, hot chocolates, live music and many more activities will fill La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll with debauchery.
With snow depths ranging between 60 and 105 cm, visitors will be able to ski or snowboard in the 26.7 kilometers of skiable area spread over 25 slopes, which will be accessible with 100% of the lifts open.
The objective of this initiative is to promote and popularize winter sports among 3rd and 4th grade primary school students in the Catalan Pyrenees, as well as offer the opportunity to learn and experience them in their own environment.
The agreement, signed within the framework of Fitur, includes the ferry trip and special offers of ski passes for the resorts of La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll. People who visit the FGC stand will be able to live immersive experiences for all audiences: immerse themselves in the descent of a ski slope or a bike park at full speed with virtual reality glasses and try out the ski simulators.
With snow depths of up to 60 cm, the Pallaresa resort will open up to 14 slopes spread over 20 kilometers. Port Ainé celebrates the Christmas holidays with activities such as the cagada de la Tronca, workshops, excursions, the visit of the Three Kings and the torchlight descent.
La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll will open their ski areas between tomorrow, Friday, December 13, and the following Saturday, after snowfalls that have left thicknesses ranging between 20 and 60 cm of snow. In addition, if conditions permit, the ski areas will be expanded.
